As part of #Memorial Day and #ALS Awareness Month, we'd like to highlight the connection between ALS and military #veterans. For unknown reasons, veterans have a significantly higher risk of ALS than the civilian population.

Today we commemorate those who gave their lives while serving in the US military, and we pay special tribute to those who lost their battle with ALS.

ALS is a rare and progressive #neurological disease that affects people all over the world. Today, over 60.000 people have #ALS, and 20.000 new patients are diagnosed each year.

ALS is fatal, with a life expectancy of only 3-5 years from the beginning of the first symptoms. Despite nearly 150 years of #research, the cause remains unknown, and there is no effective treatment, let alone a cure.

This month, we will be sharing information about ALS and our research. Stay tuned!

Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases (#CIND) is a collective term for a number of diseases that affect both the central nervous and the immune system, including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (#ALS), and #Parkinsons.

There is currently no effective treatment, let alone a cure, for either ALS or Parkinson’s. Our mission is to develop a novel, therapeutic drug that will improve the quality of life for both patients and their families.
